Air purifiers how do they work?

It is the main question which you are wondering about, isn’t it?

It is important to know how air purifiers work.

Ever wondered why your home is more polluted than the outside?

Well, there are so many factors. What you should know is that an air purifier is the only way to boost your indoor quality.

Americans spend an average of $250 million on air purifier yearly for their homes.

Why do they use it?

Air purifier is a material that purifies the air and protects us from all the pollutants. The environment contains many different types of pollutants and our home environment is not safe either. So, we need an air purifier. It can help to remove the pollutants.

Air purifiers remove almost all types of airborne pollutants. For Example, dust, bacteria, germs, allergens, pet dander, etc.

Now, I will show you, actually, how do they work? I think, within a few minutes you will get your proper answer. So, all you have to do is keep your eyes glued to the screen.

Let’s begin the main session then, ready?

Types of Purifier filters

Air purifiers consist of a fan, filter and more. Filters contain paper and fiver. When air enters the purifier, there are fine filter sieves present that filter the air. The fan is later responsible for releasing the purified air to the atmosphere of the house. A finer sieve is capable of trapping the smaller airborne pollutants.

Although the filters of the purifier demand frequent replacement. But the filter’s replacement depends on purifier types. There are some types of filters available in the market like reusable and washable. You might need to remove larger particles or microbiological particles. If you want to remove larger particles like pollens or dust then reusable filters are the best. But if you want to remove the microbiological particles then UV filter will help you.

Various types of filters are present. Such as:

1. High-efficiency particulate arrestance (HEPA) filter

2. Filter HVAC

HEPA filter

HEPA filter
air purifiers how do they work

The good news is that HEPA filters can remove 99.97% of airborne pollutants and particles as small as 0.3 microns. But, it is more effective for removing larger particles.

Using a filter called prefilter, HEPA removes rough pollutants and can simply clean without any problem. This filter does not need to be cleaned or replaced again and again. It does not make extra harmful substances as by product. HEPA purifiers are best for allergens.

HVAC filter

Filter HVAC which is above MERV 14 can remove 0.3 micrometers or larger particles at a rate of 75%.

It is one of the major air purifier parts. A physical barrier is provided between the moving part of HVAC filter system and air intake. This is how HVAC filter work.

Have you understood? See what’s next!!

Industrial air purifiers how do they work?

1. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI): The air is purified by UVGI with the help of a fan that forces the air through the UV light.

2. Immobilized cell technology: It removes microfine particulate matter from the air by attracting charged particles.

3. Activated carbon: It does not remove larger particles. The adsorption process must reach equilibrium when using activated carbon. Otherwise, removing contaminants may be a bit difficult.

4.lonizer purifiers: These ionizer purifiers purify the air in a room by electrically charging air molecules. Different purifiers use different types of things to remove contaminants from the air like fans and filters. But air ionizer purifiers use ions to remove particulates and odors from the air.

5.Ozone generators: It produces ozone gas. They are sold as air cleaners. It uses high voltage electric currents. These types of generators remove irritating airborne particles in indoor environments.

6. Titanium dioxide (Ti02): It neutralizes acidic gases. As a result, this creates a toxic-free environment.

7. Polarized-media electronic air cleaners: It is an electronically enhanced media. So, this media combines elements of both electronic media air cleaners and particles that are electrically charged (polarized). After that, it collects in high-efficiency media.

8. Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO): It’s not a filtering technology and doesn’t remove particles. You need to join other filters with it and then use for air purification.

9. Photoelectrochemical oxidation: This is a very powerful air purification technology. It can destroy particles as small as 0.001 microns (nanometer) where HEPA filter can filter particles as small as 0.03 microns.

10.Thermodynamic sterilization (TSS): By using this technology, you can incinerate 99.9% of microbiological particles like bacteria, dust, viruses, and fungus spores, etc.

Are they effective or not?

The short answer is yes- Why??? Because we have researched more about these air purifiers and how do they work?

Indeed, some types of air purifiers do not work effectively. But a good quality air purifier can improve air quality significantly. Also, it helps with certain health problems and capable of reducing asthma and allergies.

Most of the time it depends on your decision. If you purchase the right kind of purifier you need then I hope that it will work effectively and also clarify your specific air quality issues.

Why do they not work properly?

An air purifier cannot remove or neutralize all aggravating particles in your home. Many particles can sit on not only soft surfaces but also hard surfaces. Soft surfaces such as bedding, furniture, and carpeting as well as hard surfaces, like your walls.

So, you should be a little more careful when using a purifier. You don’t want any particulates sitting on the furniture of your home, do you?

How air purifier works for indoor?

Air purifier purifies the air by using a system. What is this system?

Do you know?

No problem I will clear the air for you…

The air purifier uses a system of internal fans to pull the air in your home through an array of filters. That removes harmful airborne particles like bacteria, dust, and pollen. Then the air purifier circulates the purified air spread into the room. Repeating this process frequently helps to keep your environment clean and healthy.

What filters to look for?

Aside from a HEPA filter, which one can produce maximum result?

You need to look at one type of purifier which is carbon filter. An activated carbon or charcoal filter can trap gases, odors. Also, they can neutralize smoke according to their ability.

Of course, HEPA is the best filter from others. Why HEPA filter is best? I think you have already got your answer because I have already discussed it.

Air purifier benefits:

We have discussed a lot about air purifiers how do they work? Now, you should know the benefits of air purifiers?

Most of the disease to our body is made from the air. As we breathe, allergies, asthma, and many more particulates enter our body. An air purifier can help us to rid from this problem by cleaning the air.

Air purifiers help neutralize smoke. Got someone that makes your house all smelly and smoky? Well, you can’t get rid of those love ones. But, the right air purifier can take out the smell and smoke altogether. They can help trap smoke before they settle into your home.

The air purifier does not only clean the air, but they also remove unpleasant and burnt food odors.

It removes airborne allergens from the air. Got any pet animal friends? Your furry friend can put allergens into the home air. Now, I wouldn’t dare to suggest getting rid of them. And you don’t need to either. Air purifiers are definitely a better solution to clean these airs.

Are you worried about your children’s flu? Also, your spouse’s cold? True HEPA air purifiers are able to neutralize up to 99.97% of the airborne microbe with UV bulbs that capture the harmful particles.

Our homes are full of specks of dust. You can do anything, dust will accrue. An air purifier helps trap dust before they have the chance to settle, leaving you with less to clean.

Do you have seasonal allergens? Many people have this problem. Air purifiers combat seasonal allergens. Allergens are uncomfortable to us and an air purifier helps to keep the allergens out of your house.

Okay, now we will go our final steps. What is it!!!

HERE’S THE FINAL WORD…

Keep in mind, a lot depends on the environment of your home. Indeed, an air purifier can remove harmful particles from the indoor spaces, such as smoke, allergens, and mold.

Average houses have greater quantities of contaminants than the outdoors. This might not be too harmful for a healthy person. But it will affect children and people who are already suffering by allergies and respiratory difficulties.
